SKIPWITH - The Goochland Bulldogs boys’ soccer team edged the Bluestone Barons 2-1 last Monday eve- ning at Bluestone in a very close match.

The Bulldogs improved their record to 11-0 with the win, while Bluestone fell to 8-5 overall.

The Barons played a tough match against a quick opponent, according to Coach Thomas Wells.

The match was scoreless for over half of the first half before the Bulldogs got on the boards with a goal in the 17th minute of the first half. It was back and forth for the next 15 minutes before Gabe Giammatteo tied the score on a deflected ball from a penalty kick in the 32nd minute to tie the score 1-1.

Goochland regained the lead 2-1 in the 35th minute of the first half.

The second half was played well by both teams, but neither team was able to score again, and the visitor remained unbeaten with the 2-1 win.
