Dear Editor,

It has been another successful year for the “We Just Love Our Senior’s Campaign”, sponsored by Crusade4Hope. Veronica Everette’, founder of the charity-based organization, extends a heartythank you” to the community for its support. As she states “We couldn’t have done it without the love, kindness, and generosity of the community”. With the outpouring of love and support this year, our efforts were able to reach beyond the immediate community

This year, the organization gave gift bags to 56 seniors of need who reside in nursing home facilities located in Clarksville, Chase City, and South Hill. The gift bags contained items that the seniors need and use daily; items such as, soap, deodorant, body wash, tissue, body lotion and mouth wash.

Special thanks go to the Adult and Youth Mission Programs of the Averett Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 45, residents of Pen Road in Buffalo Junction, Gerdie James and Marylee Burton of Washington, DC., Gloria (Cookie) Townsend of LaCrosse, Mary Snead Jones of South Hill, and Food Lion stores in South Hill, Clarksville, Chase City.

The organization also thanks the public libraries in Boydton, Chase City, and Clarksville and the YMCA’s in Clarksville and Chase City for their continued support. Crusade 4 Hope would not be able to continuously provide support to our seniors each year without all the love and commitment of our community.

Veronica Everette
