The Chase City Police Department continues to investigate a home invasion reported at a residence on Chase Avenue on Sunday night.
According to Chief J.A. Jordan, his department was notified about a burglary in progress at the residence on Chase Avenue. On arriving, police were advised that several men wearing masks and armed with handguns and a long gun had forced their way into the apartment and assaulted a male victim while the other victims were held at gun point.
The male victim was transported by the Chase City Rescue Squad to VCU-CMH Hospital in South Hill where he was treated for his injuries and released.
Speaking on Monday, Chief Jordan confirmed that several suspects have been arrested in the case and charged with burglary to commit assault, abduction, malicious wounding, use of a firearm while in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a felony, conspiracy and child endangerment. Other charges may be forthcom- ing.
Police have not released the names of the suspects or the victims as one suspect remains at large at press time.
Chief Jordan thanked the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the case.
