Mecklenburg County’s Tourism Office has partnered with the Town of Clarksville, Clarksville Chamber of Commerce, Clarksville Economic Development Association (CEDA), downtown businesses and local sponsors to launch the Lake Life Summer Series.

Live from Clarksville, a four-part music event series to be held in downtown Clarksville starting this June-September.

The event series began as part of a statewide grant offered through Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) called DRIVE Tourism. Each of the 24 participating localities throughout the Commonwealth were tasked with producing sustainable short-term, medium-term and long-term goals that focused authenticity, connectivity and visitor experience.

The aforementioned partners, also known as Clarksville LIVE, eagerly developed the short-term goal of a summer music series. The four-part series will highlight the wonderful assets within Clarksville while providing live entertainment and delight to area visitors and local attendees alike.

“We are very excited for the Lake Life Summer Series: LIVE from Clarksville to begin,” said Jacob Bower, Mecklenburg County Tourism Coordinator. “The partners and sponsors at the table have all been enthusiastic about the music series and cannot wait for it to arrive. Tourism is a growing industry in Mecklenburg County, and we are always looking for new and exciting ways to increase visitor spending and job growth.”

“We are thrilled to have this music series in Clarksville,” said Dale Hite of Hite’s Clothing in Downtown Clarksville and a participating member of Clarksville LIVE. “We have the top beach bands around coming to our area, and this allows us to showcase Clarksville to visitors and have them visit and support our merchants and restaurants.”

The schedule of events is as follows: Saturday, June 3, The Fantastic Shakers, Logan Robinson; Saturday, July 1, The Part-Time Party Time Band; Saturday, Aug. 5, Feature Attraction Band, The Tobacco Road Band; Sunday, Sept. 3, The Embers featuring Craig Woolard; J.B. & The Get Down Browns
