Mecklenburg County deputies responded to a call of shots fired at Family Drive in Chase City, VA on March 10 at around 8:15p.m. Sergeant Ramsey spoke with the victim upon arrival; the victim stated that a female had come to the location and shot him, and provided Sgt. Ramsey with the identity of the female and a description of the vehicle driven by the female.
The vehicle was located by Sgt. Ramsey parked behind Lee’s Convenience Store. Sgt. Ramsey detected an odor associated with marijuana coming from the vehicle upon approach. Sgt. Ramsey was able to detain the driver and upon the search of the vehicle recovered marijuana, a glass jar containing a rocky crystal substance, a weapon and drug paraphernalia.
The driver was identified as Joy Arrington, a 42 yr. old of Chase City, VA. Joy Arrington was arrested and transported to Meherrin River Regional Jail where warrants were served for distribution of marijuana, a concealed weapon, possession with intent to distribute drugs, and possession of a firearm with schedule 11 drug.
